Directions
Address: Rising Park, OH-37, Lancaster, OH
Park near the park's tennis courts and pond and begin on the trail to the right of the pond, this will take you up to the overlook. The trail is no more than a quarter mile long, but you gain over 200 feet in that time, so prepare to be a little worse for wear by the time you reach the top!

Why You Should Visit
As far as Ohio sunsets go, nothing can beat the view from Rising Park's Mount Pleasant, except for maybe the Cuyahoga Valley's Ledges Overlook. The west-facing overlook takes in the surrounding foothills and city of Lancaster; Ohio's 29th largest city with a population estimate of just under 40,000. 20 minutes away is the Christmas Rocks State Nature Preserve with its centerpiece; the Jacob's Ladder Overlook, which I like to consider is the "wild" version of this view.
