Overview
The Woodland Cemetery and Arboretum was founded in 1841 and today is one of the five oldest rural garden cemeteries in the United States. Over 3,000 trees can be found within the 200-acre arboretum as well as 165 species of native Midwestern Woody Plants. The park’s lookout is one of the best (and only) places to get an elevated view of the Dayton Skyline and surrounding hillsides.
Directions
The overlook is located on Lookout Road within the cemetery. This road will show up on Google Maps, but not on Apple Maps. If entering the cemetery from its main entrance off Woodland Avenue, go straight until you reach an intersection of four different roads. Take the road furthest to the left, this is Lookout Road. Follow this for about 1/5 of a mile and the lookout will be on your left.
