Although the nearby East and West Falls of the Black River are significantly more popular, after a good rain Days Dam Falls is more impressive than either one of them. This waterfall is located in the Black River Reservation, one of Lorain County’s most visited parks with over half a million visitors per year. Even with this park's extreme popularity, this waterfall still seems to fly under the radar. Even frequent park visitors often don’t even know there's a waterfall in the park!
The Day's Dam Trailhead provides the best access to this waterfall. The trailhead is just a bit further past the intersection between Norfolk Avenue and East 31st street. Leaving the trailhead is the Bridgeway Trail , which parallels the side of the parking lot closest to the creek. You'll want to take this trail to the right/south. Continue down this trail for roughly 1/2 a mile until you reach the trailhead for the Waterfall Trail. This trail is a short loop and will take you to Day's Dam Falls.
