8. Charleston Falls

Definitely one of, if not the most impressive waterfall in Western Ohio, Charleston Falls is a 40 foot waterfall located in the Charleston Falls State Nature Preserve. The park is a great place to go for a hike, so don’t just go for the waterfall.

4. Hayden Falls

Central Ohio certainly isn’t known for its waterfalls, in fact there’s only two documented waterfalls in the Columbus metro area. Although its just one of the two waterfalls in the metro area, Hayden Falls doesn't disappoint. Hayden Falls is a spectacular 30 foot waterfall located in a small urban park in Dublin, Ohio. The waterfall is most beautiful after a good rain.

1. Twin Sisters Falls

Nothing in Ohio comes remotely close to Twin Sisters after a rainy day. At around 70 feet tall, Twin Sister’s two waterfalls drop in dramatic fashion into the gorge below. The journey to the falls is no easy one though, but it makes it all the more rewarding.

Believe it or not, hidden deep within the forests of Ohio are some of the finest waterfalls east of the Mississippi. Some are nearly 100 feet in height, while others are nearly 100 feet wide. Without further adieu, here are the top ten waterfalls in Ohio

7. Buttermilk Falls

One of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park’s best kept gems, Buttermilk Falls is a gorgeous 30 foot cascade located downstream from the more well known Blue Hen Falls. There’s no trail that takes you here, so you’ll just have to walk downstream.

3. Cedar Falls

Cedar Falls is the most consistent waterfall in the Hocking Hills Region. No matter how little it has rained, it’s almost guaranteed there’ll be water flowing down Cedar Falls. The waterfall isn’t too wide, but it’s nearly 50 feet tall

5. Old Mans Cave Waterfalls

Upper and Lower Old Mans Cave Waterfalls have to be some of the most photographed spots in Ohio. These majestic cascades fall over 40 feet in total, and can be accessed via the Grandma Gatewood Trail.

10. Great Falls of Tinker’s Creek

Nestled in a small urban park in Bedford, Ohio, this waterfall makes a clean 20 foot drop on Tinkers Creek that is nearly 100 feet wide. Best come here after a little rain, if not the waterfall may shrink to around 10 feet wide.

2. Brandywine Falls

Brandywine Falls is perhaps the most consistent waterfall in all of Ohio, and it’s 65 feet tall as well. Brandywine Falls is located in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park and is easily the most popular attraction in the park.

6. Hidden Valley Falls

This waterfall is similar to Buttermilk Falls, but even bigger. Hidden Valley Falls is over 40 feet tall, and that’s not even including the 7 foot waterfall located just above the main waterfall. The waterfall is located in Hidden Valley Metropark, which is northeast of Cleveland.

9. Lyons Falls

The centerpiece of Mohican State Park, Lyons Falls is similar to Ash Cave Falls in Hocking Hills, but has just a bit more water. Lyons Falls drops 80 feet off a recess cave into a valley below. While there’s usually water flowing off this waterfall, try to visit this waterfall after a good rain.
